US House passes FIT21

The Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21) passed the House with bipartisan support (279–136).

It introduced a clear classification system dividing tokens into 'securities (SEC)' and 'digital commodities (CFTC),' and shifted jurisdiction over sufficiently decentralized assets to the CFTC. It was the first comprehensive bill on crypto market structure ever passed by the U.S. Congress, and it laid the groundwork for later Senate discussions on the GENIUS and CLARITY Acts.
